Working with Philip Turvil to renew our garden has been a delight. A most charming and professional man, he took great care during Stage 1 to ensure the differing preferences of my wife and I were accommodated in the garden plan, whilst offering extremely knowledgeable and helpful advice. The whole experience with BMG was excellent. Philip was clear on actions/pricing throughout; we worked on his design to get to what I was looking for and when it came to the landscaping and planting, he and his team were on time, worked hard throughout and it all went to plan. I have a fabulous garden that I am sure I will enjoy for years to come.

We recently had our back garden redesigned by Philip from Brighten My Garden, and the whole experience was excellent from start to finish. Our aim was to create a better flow and link the space to a new patio we’d installed a couple of years ago, and Philip absolutely delivered.
From the first meeting, his communication was spot‑on. He’s personable, friendly, and genuinely listens. He asked thoughtful questions, made helpful suggestions, and brought some brilliant ideas that we’d never have come up with ourselves. The whole process was clear and completely stress‑free, and we were both excited to see the changes take shape.
Philip handled the planning, planting, and landscaping with total professionalism. He was considerate of our budget and made sure to incorporate plants we already had, tying everything together with new planting that gives colour and movement from March right through to October — perfect for us as we love to BBQ early in the season and long into summer. His attention to detail was second to none, and he kept everything tidy and clean throughout.
Timescales were exactly as promised, and the work was carried out with real care and pride.
The final result is a garden we’ll enjoy for years to come — a beautiful space to sit outside, relax, and make the most of those warm days. We’ve already thought of another small project for the front of the house and will definitely be getting back in touch.

Had a superb experience with Brighten My Garden. Right from initial contact, Philip proved to be the perfect choice to deliver our garden project. The planning was completed in line with our first consultation and the 3D planning allowed for an excellent visual render of what the completed garden would look like. The work was completed on time and on budget to our total satisfaction.

It was an absolute pleasure working with Philip. He clearly has so much passion for what he does – it’s a joy to work with somebody who cares as deeply about your home and garden as you do!
After buying some additional garden land, Philip visited to assess the space and understand requirements. He meticulously noted down every word and came up with a plan that fitted the brief perfectly. He then visited again to review the plan and made some minor tweaks. The plan was fantastic – far more than I had hoped for and far more than I could ever have come up with myself.
I did most of the hard landscaping myself and then Philip came back and produced a planting plan, sourced the plants and watering system and then did the planting, watering system and mulching. He moved mountains to get it done quicker than originally planned. He is as competent and caring in the garden as he is with his plans. It was an absolute joy to spend a day planting in the sun with Philip and Ryan.
Philip’s quotes and estimates are very clear and fair. There is absolutely no ambiguity over what you’re getting or how much you’re paying.
I cannot recommend Philip highly enough. I just wish I had another garden to do it all again 😀
